Vulnerabilities, in Plant Context.

Bringing network discovery, vulnerability assessment, and reactor simulation into one experimental environment.

The Research Question

How can vulnerability management account for the operational environment of an advanced reactor?

My Contribution

I led the research reported in Development of a Vulnerability Management Tool for Advanced Reactors, coauthored with Marc Zebrowitz and Fan Zhang. My contributions include the concept, methodology, software, investigation, analysis, validation, and original manuscript.

The Approach

The framework connects automated network discovery and vulnerability assessment with a Minimega-based emulated network and a generic pressurized water reactor simulator. That environment makes it possible to study cyber assets alongside plant behavior.

Research Output

The paper was published in Nuclear Technology in 2026. The publisher's record provides the methods, findings, author contributions, and funding acknowledgments.

A Continuing Direction

My doctoral work builds on these questions through network digital twins, risk assessment, and resource-constrained cyber defense decision support.
